East Lansing/MSU podcast
An idea I want to implement is a mini-podcast series on topics students care about that also involve the city. For example: housing, race relations, downtown, policing, etc. We could facilitate it and invite city officials and students to be panelists on the podcast and have an open discussion about the state of these issues and the concerns of each side.
Meet the Mayor lunches
This is something I've been working on for a while, but hope to expand upon. We already met with the mayor, who agreed to come to campus every once in a while and have lunch with students at dining halls. This could be a forum for students to voice their concerns to the mayor, learn more about East Lansing, or simply get to meet a local public official!
Housing
As we have in the past, I hope to continue our housing efforts. This would include continuing to work with the city on the Housing Taskforce, conducting another landlord survey to provide quality data post covid-19, and publishing (and posting online) a more comprehensive housing 101 guideline for new renters.
