Department and GA collaboration

Ensuring our department is functioning smoothly and working closely with the General Assembly

Department and GA collaboration: Issues

Gov Affairs Website

There are often so many channels of communication that important information gets lost along the way. Emails are tricky because they can easily get shifted down, but a website is a transparent and accessible way to provide the information and content needed! I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. On the website we will have a page for state, national, and local news, updated by our office. We will have reports from the Community Liaison, State Liaison, and VPGA. We will have a page with voter information about registration and the latest election. We will have a comments and suggestions page.

What else? I'd love to hear from you and get your feedback! What else do you want to see on a website for the Gov Affairs Department?

Department and GA collaboration: Bio

General Assembly Collaboration

In the past I have:

1) held office hours specifically for GA reps

2) assisted GA members with bills

3) held presentations on general governmental information (local structure, current officials, recent legislation, etc.)

4) Created an email newsletter with Gov Affairs updates on current events/legislation pertaining to students

5) Provided a dropbox for commentary on performance and potential improvements

6) Asked for GA input for the first time ever on what the Big Ten on the Hill legislative platform would include

I hope to continue these efforts in listening to, working with, and serving the General Assembly and the student body as a whole.
